Responsibilities
- Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner as they arrive at the facility.
- Collect and verify patient information, including demographic details and insurance coverage.
- Conduct insurance verification to ensure eligibility and benefits before patient appointments.
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as Epic or Eaglesoft to manage patient data accurately.
- Assist with medical collections by following up on outstanding balances and payment arrangements.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and ensure all necessary documentation is complete.
- Maintain knowledge of medical coding practices, including ICD-10, to assist with accurate billing processes.
- Handle incoming calls using phone systems to address patient inquiries or direct them to appropriate departments.
- Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient records.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration or related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in a front desk role within a medical setting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of care plans is essential.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic or Eaglesoft is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and staff.
