What are the responsibilities and job description for the Employment-Housing Specialist position at Bluebonnet Trails Community Services?
The Employment-Housing Specialist (EHS) works with individuals that have a diagnosed mental illness who are experiencing homelessness, or are at risk of becoming homeless, and who may be unemployed, underemployed, or at risk of becoming unemployed. The EHS teaches a variety of skills to individuals that help them obtain and maintain affordable housing and employment and helps individuals develop and follow person-centered housing and recovery plans that promote housing stability and independent living, employment, wellness, and recovery from mental illness. The EHS is supported by professional staff including case managers, peer specialists, nurses, psychiatrists and advanced nurse practitioners. Supported Employment and Supportive Housing training is provided for the applicant chosen for the position. The work schedule is flexible, to accommodate the people being served, and services are provided face-to-face in the community or in-clinic, or by tele-video, or by telephone according to individuals’ preferences and needs. The EHS works from home, with use of clinic space as available for services as needed.

Salary: $21.46 – $30.71/hr
Applicable Differentials:
- Up to $4.00/hour – tenure with BTCS
- $.75/hour – Bilingual
- $1.00/hour – Masters Degree in Human Services
· $1.00/hour – Advanced Licensure · $.50/hour – LCDC licensure
- Up to $2.00/hour – previous experience in a similar role with a community center
