Position Summary:

The Strategy Director, External Brand Marketing, will drive the strategic vision and execution for BFA’s external-facing brands, such as BuildSubmarines.com. This leader will work closely with external advertising and media agencies to craft and implement communication strategies that inspire people to pursue purpose-driven careers in maritime manufacturing. Acting as a steward of the brand, the Strategy Director will define brand strategy, shape the long-term vision, and guide the executional rollout to ensure alignment with organizational goals. They will review and refine agency deliverables, ensure brand consistency, establish clear KPIs, and leverage analytics to inform and improve strategies. This position will also communicate complex strategies and data-driven insights in an accessible manner to stakeholders with varying marketing backgrounds, ensuring broad understanding and buy-in. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and refine strategic direction for external-facing brands, ensuring messaging and positioning are aligned with the mission and long-term objectives.
• Collaborate closely with external creative, media, and other agency partners to shape and guide communications strategies. Provide clear and actionable feedback on all deliverables, ensuring alignment with brand consistency, strategic direction, and audience relevance. Act as the primary point of contact to ensure that agency efforts meet the highest standards and achieve desired results.
• Work across internal teams to socialize brand strategies, helping ensure external brand narratives are accurately represented in other organizational initiatives and communications.
• Partner with external creative, media, and other agency partners to lead the planning and execution of brand campaigns. Work collaboratively to develop audience insights, media mix recommendations, and creative strategies that drive awareness, engagement, and meaningful business outcomes. Ensure campaign alignment with overarching brand goals and organizational objectives.
• Establish clear KPIs and measurement frameworks to track performance. Leverage analytics and audience insights to refine strategies, adjust tactics, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Present strategies, performance metrics, and campaign outcomes to stakeholders at all levels, simplifying complex marketing data and strategic concepts to ensure broad understanding and support.
• Stay current on industry, cultural, and digital trends. Integrate emerging best practices into brand strategies to maintain relevance and impact.
• Oversee the integrity of creative assets and messaging, ensuring consistency in voice, tone, and visual identity across all external brand touchpoints.
