Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student with a major or career interest in Healthcare Administration or Marketing.
- Demonstrates interest in healthcare and a commitment to supporting diverse communities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including staff, community members, and other interns, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload in a dynamic work environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and a willingness to learn department-specific tools or software.
- Motivated, flexible, and capable of working both independently and as part of a diverse team.
- Student Intern will be expected to comply with Bluegrass Care Navigators (BCN) Employee Health, infectious disease, and vaccination policies.
- Qualifications: Must be a licensed driver with an automobile in good working order, that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements, with personal auto liability insurance in compliance with the state insurance laws governing liability, property damage, and bodily injury.
- Participates actively in projects related to the chosen field, contributing to key stages from planning to implementation. Tasks may include data analysis, drafting reports, content creation, and supporting team meetings.
- Collaborates with department staff to develop solutions, document outcomes, and measure the effectiveness of initiatives, gaining practical, real-world experience in healthcare administration or marketing.
- Completes weekly reports detailing tasks, accomplishments, and lessons learned. Uses these reports to track progress and reflect on areas for improvement.
- Creates a portfolio of work completed during the internship, including summaries of projects, reflections, and any presentation materials. This portfolio will serve as the basis for a final presentation to BCN leadership and colleagues at the conclusion of the program.
- Attends professional development workshops covering essential skills such as personal branding, resume building, interview preparation, and effective communication.
- Engages in networking events and learning sessions with healthcare professionals and industry leaders, expanding industry knowledge and understanding of healthcare careers.
- Regularly meets with a designated mentor to discuss career goals, program progress, and personal development with feedback on performance and advice on next steps.
- This position may require the team member to drive occasionally for work.
- Must have satisfactory references from professors and/or employers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
