What are the responsibilities and job description for the SALES ACCOUNT MANAGER position at Bluegrass Ingredients Inc?
Position Summary: Responsible for growing dairy and nondairy ingredient sales to large food processing customers in the assigned sales territory. Accountable for achieving targeted volume and revenue targets for assigned territory and customers.
The ideal candidate will be able to appropriately identify the needs of both new and current customers in order to aid customers in their success using our product. This will be done by developing an appropriate level of communication with clients and internal team members to better understand and mitigate any issues the customers may face.
Duties and Responsibilities: Including but not limited to the following:
- Account Management: Lead and influence strategic account planning. Develop comprehensive action plans for main accounts. Develop a thoughtful understanding of customer potential through analysis of brand strategies, positioning, strengths and weaknesses, and competition data. Cultivate customer relationships with important decision-makers, positioning us as a preferred supplier
- Communication. Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization using Salesforce and e-mail. Demonstrates excellent presentation, oral, and written communication skills.
- Negotiation and Collaboration: Manage large commercial projects. Ensure visibility and exposure for us at customers by maintaining and guiding appropriate call frequency with essential product demonstrations and technical to the technical interface. Follow up on customer inquiries in a timely basis.
- Improving processes: Streamlining sales processes, implementing sales automation solutions, and optimizing customer relationship management (CRM) data
- Collaborating: Working with other departments, such as marketing and finance, to implement new processes
Requirements:
- Bachelors’ degree in Food Science or other related field
- 5 years of progressive experience in selling ingredients to large food companies
- High level of proficiency with sales planning, both short-term and strategic planning.
- Understanding of the ingredients industry, including consumer, industry trends, and food processing.
- Knowledge of customer strategies, programs, commercial needs, product launch processes, and competitor activity
