Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee our financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, and maintain compliance with accounting principles and regulations in the Home Office located in Knoxville, TN. The ideal candidate will lead the accounting team, streamline processes, and provide valuable insights to support business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP or IFRS.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and financial data.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying variances and areas for improvement.
- Provide financial insights and reports to senior management for strategic planning.
Compliance & Audit:
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax laws, and company policies.
- Prepare for and coordinate external audits, responding to inquiries from auditors and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain accurate records for tax filings and financial reporting.
Process Improvement & Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, providing training and guidance.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement automation where possible.
- Collaborate with other departments to improve financial efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
