BluePearl Pet Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona is seeking a motivated and skilled Veterinary Technician for our growing Internal Medicine department.

The schedule is full-time, day shifts. Does include an ER weekend and holiday rotation. We offer generous shift differentials for weekend shifts. This position is split between 2 locations Phoenix and Scottsdale.
Phoenix-Tuesday and Wednesday 9am-7pm
Scottsdale-Thursday and Friday 9am-7pm
Pay CVT I: $22.00 - $32.00/ hour
Pay: Dependent on local veterinary licensing, experience, and advancement through our competency assessment tool.

As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician, you are a liaison between our internists and our clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors. You will be involved with client contact through phone calls, email, and in person conversations. Additionally, you will be assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, filling prescriptions, taking x rays, and obtaining lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.

- Weekday Night (Mon-Fri 6p to 8a): $3.50
- Weekend Day (Sat-Sun 8a to 6p): $3.50
- Weekend Night (Sat-Sun 6p to 8a): $5.00
As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician, you are a liaison between our internists and our clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors. You will be involved with client contact through phone calls, email, and in person conversations. Additionally, you will be assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, filling prescriptions, taking x rays, and obtaining lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.
As An Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician, You Will
- Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
- Calculate all medical math.
- Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
- Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in all peripheral veins.
- Administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
- Set up and assist with ultrasound and radiology procedures.
- Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean and maintain equipment following procedure.
- Discharge Internal Medicine patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid and feeding tube demonstrations.
- Set up and assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures which may include:
- Joint Taps
- Body cavity centesis (thoracocentesis, pericardiocentesis, abdominocentesis)
- Bone marrow biopsy and aspirates
- Needle aspirates
- Laparoscopic or ultrasound guided biopsies
