Core Responsibilities:
Strategic Communication Support
- Assist in the development of short-, mid-, and long-term communication plans aligned with OCPA objectives and Army priorities
- Draft messaging frameworks, key messages, and audience segmentation strategies for internal and external campaigns
- Support synchronization of communication efforts across multiple OCPA divisions and Army stakeholders
- Provide tactical support for Army communication campaigns, including planning documents, content calendars, and campaign briefs
- Help identify opportunities for message amplification across traditional, digital, and community engagement platforms
- Coordinate with writers, designers, and digital teams to align content with strategic messaging objectives
- Conduct background research on Army programs, initiatives, and audience segments to inform planning efforts
- Monitor media coverage and public sentiment to identify messaging opportunities and challenges
- Support campaign performance analysis and recommendations for refinement
- Assist in developing communication materials and talking points for Army leaders and public-facing events
- Support outreach to key stakeholders such as community organizations, veterans groups, military families, and partner agencies
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communications, Public Affairs, Journalism, Political Science, or related field
- 3–6 years of experience in communication planning, campaign support, or public affairs, preferably within a military, federal, or public sector environment
- Experience supporting strategic messaging or audience engagement for large-scale organizations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt messages to diverse audiences
- Familiarity with Army structure, values, and communication protocols preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge of collaboration tools such as Teams, SharePoint, or Asana
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Experience working on military or federal communications initiatives
- Understanding of Army strategic priorities such as modernization, readiness, and integrated deterrence
- Familiarity with social media platforms, digital content planning, and communication metrics
- Timely, accurate, and effective support for Army communication plans and messaging strategies
- Well-developed messaging content and campaign materials that reflect Army values and mission
- Aligned, synchronized communication outputs that contribute to Army OCPA’s strategic impact across audiences
