What Are We Doing?

Our foundational science harnesses the ability to create and then direct the differentiation of universal pluripotent stem cells into authentic, functional cells that can be used as allogeneic cellular therapies to treat a broad array of diseases. We can also further engineer these cells, enabling them to produce enzymes, antibodies, and other proteins for additional therapeutic benefit.

The Neurology In Vivo team at BlueRock Therapeutics is seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual for a full-time Co-Op position in New York City. The successful candidate will support the development of cell therapy products and platforms at BlueRock by executing in vivo and ex vivo assays. The candidate in this role will report and work closely with In Vivo Neurology and be responsible for collaborating with various functional groups within Research, including cell biology and discovery analytics, to advance our preclinical pipeline. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, self-starting individual who enjoys hands-on scientific execution, collaboration, and is seeking valuable career opportunities in a fast-paced biotechnology space. 

This role is for a 12-month co-op.

• Participate in the execution and analysis of experiments with managerial guidance.
• Execute immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence experiments, including rodent brain sectioning, staining, imaging and quantification.
• Assist in in vivo experiments such as rodent handling, behavior, intracranial surgery, and tissue collection.
• Follow protocols and record findings using an electronic laboratory notebook.
•  Present findings in cross-functional meetings.

• Have (Currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university Biomedical or Neuroscience or related field of study).
• Possess the (Ability to work a 12-month assignment, full-time).
• Must be 18 years of age by the start of the internship/co-op.
• Must have transportation to the site in New York, NY.
• This position is intended to be on-site and candidates will be informed should anything change.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and time management skills in an extremely fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have a minimum of 1-year rodent (rat or mouse) handling experience.
• Experience with performing animal behavioral studies (preferred).
• Familiarity with immunofluorescence and imaging techniques (preferred).
