With offices in Washington D.C. and New York, and plans to expand into Miami, our clients include foreign governments, banks, international credit insurers, investors, litigation funders, high net worth individuals, and public and private entities.
Summary
As a Litigation Paralegal at Bluestone, P.C., you will play a vital role in supporting our legal team by managing case files, conducting research, and preparing documents essential for litigation. This is a unique and immediate part-time opportunity (20-30 hours per week) (with the possibility of moving to full-time) for a professional looking to have hands-on litigation experience in fraud and asset recovery.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of work experience in the legal field, and a have strong interest in financial and other fraud, analyzing banking transactions, corporate relationships, and international business. Fluency in Spanish is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in managing litigation caseload, calendaring internal timelines, court deadlines, and client requests;
- Assisting in drafting subpoenas and other requests for discovery, calendaring response deadlines, communicating with subpoena recipients concerning deadlines;
- Managing, organizing, and analyzing financial and other data for use by attorneys and outside experts;
- Assisting in drafting and proofreading litigation documentation including complaints, discovery, and motions, and creating tables and other formatting needs;
- Managing nationwide service of process efforts and coordinate with vendors;
- Managing case expenditures and assist in client billings;
- Working with Bluestone P.C. attorneys and other administrative staff in the litigation process;
- Filing pleadings and other documents in federal courts throughout the country, and in state courts in FL/NY/MD/DC;
- Work in Clio legal software;
- Report running and forecasting case movement;
Qualifications

- Proficiency with Technology: Familiarity with legal software and electronic filing systems;
- Meticulous attention to detail: High level of accuracy when reviewing documents, data, and legal filings;
- Legal knowledge: Understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and relevant laws;
- Communication skills: Clear and concise verbal and written communication to effectively interact with clients, attorneys, and other legal professionals;
- Writing skills: assisting drafting legal documents such as letters, briefs, discovery requests, and pleadings;
- Critical thinking: Analyzing information and identifying key issues within a case;
- Research skills: Ability to conduct basic legal research and gather relevant information from various sources.
Benefits
- Salary: $35 - 40 per hour, commensurate with experience
- Hybrid work environment with flexibility regarding employee’s physical location and work day hours, with in-office work required in midtown Miami, as needed.
