SERVICE LABORER

Description

Summary
Position responsible for assisting in the installation or repair of roofs on commercial structures. Ideal candidate should have experience repairing TPO, PVC, Foam, BUR, Tile, and Shingles, with some exterior service experience. You will also be responsible for assisting in the equipment unload process and carrying tools or roofing materials up a ladder to the work site on the roof and well as ensuring the worksite is clean from debris. You will work as part of a team under the direction of a supervisor or foreman. Critical job duties include ensuring you are working safely and according to the company’s safety procedures.

This position reports directly to a Superintendent, with a dotted line to a Journeyman or Foreman per each job.

This position is an hourly, non-exempt position.

Qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation and repair of different roof types
• Exterior Services Experience 
• Remove roofing materials (shingles, tile, foam, rolled asphalt, single-ply metal) with tools and equipment
• Clean and prep work area for the new roofing materials to be installed
• Load roofing materials onto roof by rope
• Clean job area of trash, debris, and discarded roofing materials
• Ability to work on uneven and steep sloped surfaces
• Provide assistance with metal fabrication for metal repairs
• Help install gutters and down spouts
• Locate leaks and apply patches for repair
• Operate company truck to and from job site
• Additional duties as required by your supervisor, Foreman or Journeyman

Physical Requirements
Must be able to work in an environment where there may be regular exposure to noise, odors, fumes, temperature fluctuations and other conditions associated with the roofing industries. Lift minimum of 50 lbs, standing for long periods of time. Vision abilities to include: distance, close, color, depth, and peripheral. Also the ability to adjust focus. Regular use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
