We are a smalving been in business for over 27 years our boats have an excellent reputation for their ride, toughness, build quality and our customer service. We run our shop with a more laid back attitude than some of the larger manufacturers. We want our team to learn and participate in every part of a build, not just be one part of a large assembly line. We are currently looking for an experienced lamination technician to work in our glass shop to put out the quality parts we are known for. Experience running a gelcoat gun is a plus.
As a Boat Lamination Technician, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the precise application of fiberglass, resin, and other composite materials to construct and repair boat hulls and structures
You will play a crucial role in creating high-quality, durable, and seaworthy vessels
Fiberglass Application: Proficiently apply fiberglass cloth and matting to boat molds using hand tools and ensure proper adhesion to create strong and waterproof hulls
Resin Mixing: Accurately measure and mix resin and catalyst according to specifications for lamination processes while adhering to safety guidelines
Mold Preparation: Prepare boat molds by cleaning, waxing, and applying release agents to ensure smooth and easy removal of finished laminated parts
Quality Control: Conduct thorough inspections of completed laminations to identify any defects, air bubbles, or imperfections and take appropriate corrective measures
Tool Maintenance: Properly maintain and clean lamination tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while handling hazardous materials and operating equipment
The ideal candidate will have 5 years experience working in a production facility or doing repairs in the field, a passion for boats and the building process
