Medical Assistant or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Full-Time Position

Sausalito, California

DESCRIPTION :

BlueWave Medicine ( seeks an experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse or Medical Assistant (MA) who desires full-time employment in an Integrative and Holistic medicine office whose team is focused on providing high quality and personalized care to their patients. Our office is located in the award winning Cavallo Point Lodge in Sausalito on 80 acres of national park under the Golden Gate Bridge. The location is spectacular!

We are looking for a bright, professional, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant with excellent customer service skills, be genuinely caring, courteous and compassionate with patients. The Medical Assistant should exhibit sound clinical knowledge and communication skills. The Medical Assistant candidate will collaborate with patients, and an interdisciplinary team to organize, coordinate and monitor the provision of healthcare in a high-engagement high-technology clinical environment.

The position is based in our office located at the Healing Arts Center at Cavallo Point lodge, and will require occasional travel to patient’s homes and offices. Generous salary and benefit package.

Requirements :

Current licensure as Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) degree
Current Basic Life Support / CPR certification is required.
2 years or more of experience as LVN or MA
Current Phlebotomy Certification.(preferred)
Current IV therapy Certification for LVN (preferred)
High School diploma is required. An Associate’s degree in a related field is preferred.
Current and valid California Driver’s license with acceptable DMV record and reliable car.
Experience working in primary care, concierge medicine, and / or integrative medicine settings is preferred.
Experience using electronic medical records, and Microsoft word is required.
Experience using point of service systems (mindbody software), and electronic communication software (e.g. Slack, video conference call technologies, etc.) is preferred.

Responsibilities :

Support clinicians and office manager in order to achieve superior patient outcomes including optimal health and patient satisfaction.

Back Office :

Performing phlebotomy and specimen handling for laboratory processing.

Immunizations and Vaccinations.

Taking Vital Signs and Rooming Patients.

Front Office :

Medical records management - electronic receipt and filing of incoming records into our EMR and completing forms and sending relevant records to referring providers, imaging centers etc.

Ordering lab test kits and radiographic tests and follow-up on obtaining results.

Maintain up to date medication and dietary supplement list on EMR.

Management of prescription refill requests.

Information / Data Management :

Significant time is spent updating electronic health records using MD-HQ software to receive, review, and file documents electronically, as well as review patient charts to ensure health care maintenance activities are up to date

Organizing electronic charts prior to patient visits.

Significant spent on Care Coordination including patient referrals and follow-up.

Care Coordination :

Meet regularly with clinicians to ensure seamless communication between office and patients so that timely follow-up is maintained.

Inform providers on patient schedule and goals of visit, as well as pending items in need of clinician follow-up.

Skills and Characteristics :

Detail oriented, good follow-through, commitment to ongoing care of patients.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, positive attitude, ability to create a positive work environment with team members, and tendency to adapt positively to change.

Desire to function independently and thrive in a self-directed work environment with the opportunity for mentorship by the clinician and management team.

Experience in phlebotomy and administering vaccines and immunizations.

Experience in doing vital signs, electrocardiogram, VO2 fitness testing, and body composition measurements.

Knowledge and experience in HIPAA and other healthcare related privacy laws preferred.
