Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Estimator to join our team. This role is crucial in securing new projects for our shop by reviewing potential jobs, preparing accurate estimates, and submitting competitive bids. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the cabinet industry and proven experience in estimating for commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities
· Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine scope and materials.
· Prepare accurate cost estimates, including labor, materials, and overhead.
· Develop and submit competitive bids to general contractors and project owners.
· Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow our project pipeline.
· Collaborate with clients, architects, and project managers to ensure accurate project costing.
· Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
· Track bid status and follow up on pending proposals.
· Assist in value engineering and project cost analysis.
· Support project handoff to production teams, ensuring clarity on estimated costs and scope.
Qualifications
· Experience in the cabinet or millwork industry is required.
· Proven experience as an estimator, preferably in commercial projects.
· Strong understanding of cabinetry materials, fabrication, and installation processes.
· Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and project specifications.
· Familiarity with Innergy estimating software and Excel-based cost analysis.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
· Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines effectively.
