Job Summary: The Staff A Accountant is responsible for learning and applying their technical skills and working as part of a team carrying out tasks under direct coaching and supervision.
Experience:
• 0-2 years accounting experience.
Education/Certifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or other bachelor's degree with comparable accounting coursework or currently completing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Required:
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Suite of Products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Desired:
• Technical knowledge in accounting software; e.g., QuickBooks, Unanet, Deltek Costpoint, JAMIS, etc.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Job Responsibilities and/or Activities:
• Bank, Line of Credit, and Credit Card Entry and Reconciliation.
• Preparation of financial package deliverable.
• Account Payables Cycle
• Simplistic Payroll Processing
• Simplistic Quarterly and Annual Payroll Taxes.
• Simplistic A/R invoice creation for client.
• Incurred cost submission data entry.
• Preparation of simplistic Sales and Consumer Use Tax Returns.
• Preparation of Business Personal Property Tax Returns.
• Understands performance expectations and plans, organizes, and works efficiently.
• Develops a basic understanding of government contracting (contract types, indirect rates, job cost accounting).
