Shipping and Receiving Clerk
POSITION SUMMARY
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk performs clerical and physical tasks to manage the shipment and receipt of goods for the BMZ USA. Inc. This role follows established guidelines for routine tasks and receives specific guidance from supervisors when handling non-routine or unusual situations. The position requires close collaboration with other team members to ensure the accurate and efficient flow of goods. The employee will handle shipping and receiving responsibilities, manage inventory levels, verify the accuracy of shipments, and ensure the warehouse remains organized.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Shipping Duties:
- Verify the accuracy of orders by comparing items and quantities selected for shipment against accompanying documentation.
- Ensure shipments are properly packaged, labeled with correct shipping information, and loaded into transport vehicles.
- Maintain records of shipped goods, including manifests, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation.
Receiving Duties:
- Verify incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, or storage receipts.
- Inspect shipments for damaged goods and ensure proper identification for routing to appropriate departments.
- Maintain accurate records of received goods and prepare necessary documentation.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist warehouse personnel with inventory management tasks.
- Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure smooth operations in both shipping and receiving processes.
- Follow all safety and operational procedures to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor
Working Conditions:
- The role involves working in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures.
- Physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and loading/unloading shipments are required.
- May need to work overtime during peak shipping/receiving periods.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in Warehouse
- Experience shipping via UPS/FedEx
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to follow established processes.
VALUED BUT NOT REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of HAZMAT shipping and storage; HAZMAT/Dangerous Goods certified
- Forklift certified
- Experience shipping dangerous goods via UPS/FedEx

Working hours are an 8-hour shift between 6:00 am to 5:00 pm EST., Monday through Friday; 8-hour shift with occasional overtime and weekend hours may be required. The noise levels in some manufacturing facilities frequently may exceed the normal dBA. Work conditions may include elevated noise levels requiring hearing protection. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to some mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock.
The employee may be required to wear safety glasses and possibly hearing protection, as well as proper grounding equipment to eliminate the chance of electro-static discharge.
