Job Summary We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Shipping/Receiving Clerk to join our talented team. In this role, you will prepare and arrange materials and products for distribution or storage. You will move and load items using forklifts and other material-handling equipment. You will perform clerical and physical shipping and receiving tasks, coordinating activities of other workers, ensuring proper packaging and identification of shipments, maintaining records, and verifying incoming shipments.

Work is performed on site in Norfolk, VA and Virginia Beach, VA.

This position is contingent upon award news Spring of 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Track stock levels, identify discrepancies, and maintain proper inventory control systems.
• Perform inventory checks to ensure accuracy of stock level.
• Record shipment details, including quantities, item descriptions, and tracking numbers into computer systems.
• Safely unload and load shipments, utilizing warehouse equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks when necessary.
• Examine incoming materials for damage, defects, or discrepancies against purchase orders.
• Pack items for shipment, including applying correct labels and shipping documentation.
• Pick and pack customer orders based on pick tickets.
• Calculate quantities, weights, and shipping costs.
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse workspace, efficiently storing inventory.
• Communicate with internal departments, vendors, and customers regarding shipments and potential issues.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two (2) years of experience required.
• Able to lift heavy objects safely and efficiently.
• Forklift Certification preferred or ability to obtain.
• Ability to follow warehouse guidelines for inventory based on customer orders.
• Meet deadlines and achieve targets efficiently
• Demonstrated organizational skills as it relates to material handling
• Familiar with inventory management systems and software
• Demonstrated communication and teamwork abilities.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with management and production line staff.
  
  

Required Security Clearance

• US Citizenship required.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
• Active Interim Secret or final Secret clearance is preferred.
