Position Summary
The Senior Director of Regional Development is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the growth, expansion, and operational success of BNI US. The Senior Director of Regional Development reports to the National Director and ensures national growth strategies are development and executed. This role involves leading a team to execute regional strategies to drive membership growth, ensuring alignment with BNI’s long-term vision. The Senior Director of Regional Development plays a key role in identifying new business opportunities throughout the US, managing strategic partnerships, and ensuring BNI grows efficiently while maintaining operational excellence and improving Member satisfaction.
Roles And Responsibilities
Regional Strategy Development and Execution
Required:
Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

Roles And Responsibilities
Regional Strategy Development and Execution
- Lead the creation and execution of regional strategies to support BNI’s overall objectives related to developing and expanding in new and target markets.
- Analyze regional market conditions and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and risks.
- Define and implement growth strategies that align with both short-term and long-term goals.
- Drive the identification, evaluation, and pursuit of new business opportunities in target markets within the regions.
- Lead research to identify emerging opportunities.
- Oversee the operational performance of regional development teams and Launch Directors, ensuring consistent and efficient service.
- Work closely with other team leaders to optimize resources, training, and support to increase operational efficiency and maintain high standards of Member support.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to monitor KPIs, establish goals, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure all activities are compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
- Lead, monitor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and results-driven performance.
- Support talent recruitment, retention, and development to build leadership pipelines and ensure alignment with BNI’s goals.
- Ensure that regional development leaders are well-equipped to implement strategies and manage day-to-day operations effectively.
- Identify, develop, and execute team training needs.
- Report regularly to the National Director on regional development progress, challenges, and opportunities.
- Provide insightful analysis and recommendation for strategic decision-making.
- Ensure alignment and clear communication between regional development teams, Executive Directors, support teams, and Team USA to foster collaboration and shared goals.
Required:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in regional or business development roles.
- Proven success in driving market expansion in a membership organization.
- Strong experience in managing budgets and P&Ls.
- Excellent speaking, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Experience managing teams in membership organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
- Strong understanding of performance management principles.
- Self-starter with outstanding organizational and leadership skills.
- Experience dealing with conflict and problem-solving.
- 5 Years as a BNI Director.
- Demonstrated ability to launch Chapters.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit and develop launch teams.
