A thorough understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle is essential for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Analytical skills - understanding the business ask first before we kick off with design and development
- Initiative & Ownership - we want someone who can run with the task and see it through completion, whether it be doing analysis around the ask or testing the app along with other tech teams.
- Follow and add to our defined architecture, technology standards, and best practices for applications, middleware, and databases for development.
- Work with the team and architect to design, prototyping and delivery of software solutions, helping manage the technical environment (software, data, interfaces, integration), researching new tools and technologies, and help with developing better analytics solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and aid in debugging, while continuing to contribute directly to the success of the project deliverables.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering or related discipline required
- 7-9 years of experience in software development required
- Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, REST, NoSQL, Oracle or other Relational DBs, Angular (or React / JavaScript)
- Analytical skills with a focus on understanding business requirements
- Initiative & Ownership to see tasks through completion
- Adherence to defined architecture, technology standards, and best practices
- Collaboration with teams for software solutions design and delivery
- Participation in code reviews and debugging processes
- Experience with messaging platforms like MQ/Kafka preferred
- Knowledge of Micro-Services Architecture, Scalable High Resiliency Systems, Workflow preferred
- Familiarity with Agile Development practices and SDLC Tools like Maven, Jenkins, Git preferred
- Background in securities or financial services industry is a plus
