JOB SUMMARY:
The Licensed Massage Therapist administers professional massage and body treatments to our guests. They must have a thorough knowledge of numerous massage modalities possess a general understanding of body treatments and be willing to train in our spa's specific massage and body treatment offerings. They must possess excellent communication skills and be able to learn the product and service knowledge necessary to effectively provide wellness solutions to meet the needs of our guests.
Must have weekend and evening availability.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform various types of massage, including Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, aromatherapy, and other specialized techniques
- Customize massage treatments based on clients' individual needs and preferences
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring a tranquil and inviting atmosphere for clients
- Conduct thorough client consultations to assess their health history and specific requirements
- Stay informed about current spa services and promotions to effectively promote and upsell to clients
- Adhere to all spa policies and protocols, including maintaining client confidentiality and professionalism
- Keep up-to-date records of client treatments, preferences, and progress.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing clients' concerns and ensuring a positive experience
- Collaborate with other spa staff to create a seamless and enjoyable spa experience for clients
- Uphold a high level of hygiene and sanitation in all aspects of the massage therapy area
- Educate clients on the benefits of regular massage and recommend follow-up treatments
- Maintain all required licenses and certifications, complying with state and local regulations
- Provide assistance to other Associates and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and the spa
- Perform any other duties as requested by management
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous luxury spa experience preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience (one year minimum) in a hotel or a related field preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate client schedules.
- Must hold and maintain a State licensed massage therapist license and required insurance.
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Must work well in stressful high-pressure situations.
- Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
