We are currently looking for an E&I Specialist/ Sr. E&I Specialist to work in our McComb, MS location.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for managing daily activities related to Electrical, Controls, and Automation for assigned area, including, but not limited to, performing all required inspections, installation, operation, testing, maintenance, and repair of Electrical and Instrumentation equipment. You will regularly lead projects and critical compliance inspections, have responsibility and authority to make decisions about equipment, and will be expected to participate in the On-Call duties of the Area and respond to “call-outs”. Responsibilities also include DOT 192 compliance documentation for assigned area and the successful completion of all the Operator Qualification tasks assigned specifically for this position. This position will be responsible for recognition and reporting of abnormal and safety related operating conditions, accident and near miss reporting, as well as emergency response. This position is also responsible for regulatory compliance, operations, maintenance, and repair procedures as associated with DOT 192, industry standards, manufacturer, and company guidelines as they relate to facility equipment and appurtenances.
This role will reside at our McComb MS Compressor Station which is located in the Jayess MS area and may occasionally assist other areas with E&I work at adjacent facilities.
Successful candidate will be required to reside within 30 miles from the McComb Compressor Station near Jayess, MS in order to handle call outs and emergency response appropriately. Successful candidate will be required to complete Core Blocks in Safety, Environmental and Company policies and procedures.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
More than 3 years of experience on pipeline operating systems and compressor stations (reciprocating engine and turbine engine)
DOT 192 knowledge and experience in compliance
Basic understanding of Electricity and Instrumentation
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills and a strong ability for prioritizing and scheduling multiple projects
Experience with Microsoft programs
Ability to read, comprehend, and follow Company procedures and manufacturers guidelines
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet in order to transfer tools and equipment
Ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns
Ability to work alone as required in extreme weather conditions including hot, cold, muddy, and wet environments
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Strong commitment to personal and team safety
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
Gas Pipeline and or compressor maintenance experience
Electrical Experience
Instrumentation experience
Associate Degree or Certificate of Completion in Electrical or Electronics Technology from an Institution Accredited by one of the National Regional Accrediting Bodies
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
Technical School or college
