We are currently looking for a Tax Analyst I/II/III to work in our Houston, TX location.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Tax Analyst will prepare and file sales and use tax returns for all BWP legal entities. The Tax Analyst will process and file all annual reports and assist in pulling business records as needed related to Certificates of Good Standing.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Reconciling transaction tax accounts
• Updating sales and use tax registrations with state and local authorities
• Maintaining the tax calendar
• Answering questions related to amounts reported on the tax returns
• Assist in the maintenance of Oracle and Vertex, including month-end processes for close as well as system testing
• Assist with all sales and use tax audits, including pulling contract data and invoice support as well as research on tax law to support our tax positions

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

• Ability to work in a dynamic environment, adapting to changing business needs and tax laws.
• Ability to build a strong internal network and communicate effectively to achieve business objectives timely.
• An understanding of data analytics and trend analysis and the ability to use the data to problem solve.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and PDF files
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Experience with data reconciliation

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

• Experience with Vertex 9.0
• Experience with Oracle
• Experience with Vertex Indirect Tax Returns
• Experience with tax audits
• Experience with MS Access

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

• Accounting Degree
