Position Responsibilities

Rig, Diagnose, Maintain, and Repair:

  • Test, inspect, investigate, and diagnose mechanical and electrical failures on customer and dealer units.
  • Perform routine maintenance on all types of marine vehicles.
  • Repair units professionally to minimize come-backs and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct safety inspections and recommend additional services.
  • Prepare new units for customer delivery.
  • Remove and replace OEM and aftermarket accessories and parts.
  • Seek opportunities to generate additional revenue during maintenance tasks.
  • Perform lake tests as necessary.

General Duties and Administration:

  • Report billable labor hours to the Service Manager.
  • Compile and submit parts requests to the Parts Advisor.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Actively participate in continuing education and certification programs.

Requirements


  • Excellent knowledge of marine motor mechanics
  • A minimum of three years’ experience as a Marine Mechanic
  • Manufacturer certification and MMI graduate preferred - Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, MerCruiser.
  • Able to interpret complex instructions and/or specification
  • Knowledge and practice of shop safety procedures
  • Detail-oriented while maintaining high productivity
  • Ability to work Saturdays

Working Conditions

  • Shop environment that may require kneeling, bending, climbing, twisting, and lifting heavy objects.
  • May be required to work more than 40 hours

  • The position is Monday through Saturday, with one day off during the week and Sunday.
