What are the responsibilities and job description for the BJA Middle School Robotics Faculty position at Bob Jones Academy?
POSITION SUMMARY: Provide student instruction from a biblical worldview in the area of robotics.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Results Area #1 Develop quality instruction to enhance student learning in the area of robotics.
- Teach assigned courses
- Prepare lessons that incorporate teamwork alongside robotics
- Clearly communicate with students and parents regarding details with robotic tournaments
- Participate in 4-6 regular season tournaments often arriving at tournaments at 7:15 am and finishing around 5 pm on a Saturday.
- Participate in 1-3 signature/state/world tournaments and plan travel plans. This includes at least one night in a hotel.
- Participate in ongoing training to help with understanding games and teaching/coaching robotic students.
- Responsible for the ordering of materials, organization of materials and rooms, signing teams up for tournaments, arranging transportation and communicating with parents.
- Collaborate and work alongside the High School Robotics coach.

- Support administration with various needs throughout the day
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Vibrant walk with the Lord
- Able to communicate a biblical worldview and integrate biblical principles into subject matter
- Developing expert knowledge of teaching field
- Able to incorporate digital technology in instruction
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills in the classroom and interpersonally with students
- Developing organizational abilities in teaching and classroom management
- Be able to lift 50 pounds or more

Must be comfortable in a digital environment and able to learn the school management system
CERTIFICATE AND LICENSES:
- Teacher certification preferred
- Will need to apply for a teaching certificate from the South Carolina Association of Christian Schools
