SUMMARY: To lead activities and assist in the daily supervision of rising K4 - 1st grade students
Summer 2025
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads rising K4 - 1st grade children in activities, such as: Bible time, group games, crafts, snack time, lunch, nap time, and free play
- Follows proper safety guidelines to ensure the well-being of children at all times
- Guides children’s behavior and maintains consistent discipline
- Maintains accurate tracking sheets for the children
- Maintains a safe, clean, and appealing environment
- Available to work 40 hours a week
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must be enrolled as a student at Bob Jones University
- Successfully complete SLED and FBI checks
- Complete a health exam including a TB test
- Capable of maintaining a positive attitude and a caring concern toward children, parents, and coworkers
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for young children
- Able to provide guidance to young children
- Able to move quickly when needed
- Able to (occasionally) lift children, equipment, and supplies
- Able to hear and see at a distance
JOB SKILLS EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- Experience in working with children, in a church, daycare, school, or camp environment preferred
Certificates & Licenses:
- DSS certification
- Blood Borne Pathogens training
- 15 clock hours of training annually pertaining to Growth and Development, Curriculum, and Health and Safety
- Prior experience with children preferred
- First Aid and CPR training preferred
