Responsibilities :
- Manage the enrollment and waitlist process of new families.
- Ensure a safe, happy, and stimulating environment for children and staff.
- Ensure that the center’s facilities are safe for children and comply with laws and regulations.
- Evaluate and request the purchase of materials, equipment, and supplies to supervisors.
- Manage and support teaching staff and promote their professional development.
- Complete ongoing training and courses to remain up to date on daycare standards and procedures.
- Communicate and meet with parents regarding their children and center events.
- Provide supervision, leadership, and support to all center staff.
- Conduct ongoing informal and annual formal performance evaluations of center staff.
- Ensure licensing requirements are always met.
- Prepare for state evaluations, and regularly fulfill all state requirements / procedures.
- Report suspected neglect and / or child abuse by staff or parents to DCFS.
- Seek and interview new potential staff, when applicable.
- Fulfill requests pertaining to the center’s well-being by the owner.
- Substitute / assist for staff when needed.
- Create media promoting the center.
- Create weekly updates for parents (Newsletter).
- Implement and enforce center policies.
- Accurately file and manage student and staff information (Digitally and physically).
- Orient new employees on center procedures / policies.
- Organize monthly schedules for field trips, special events, and holidays.
- Ensure validity of staff and student documents (CARI, CHRI, etc.).
- Complete payroll on a bi-weekly basis.
- Manage staff payroll data ensuring its validity.
- Complete standard payroll duties including managing new and existing staff members, adjusting pay, and ensuring payroll information is submitted correctly.
- Provide a written report of all staff members after 3 months, and every 6 months thereafter.
This position can be held together with the Head Teacher position based on applicable qualification.
