Travis Pointe Country Club (TPCC), managed by Bobby Jones Links, is a private, member owned facility and host of the Volvik LPGA Championship 2016-2018 in addition to state and section championships annually. The club is home to more than 550 members of varying levels. Amenities of the club include: Championship 18 hole golf course, driving range, putting and chipping greens, short game area, two Trackman Simulators, indoor/outdoor pool, indoor/outdoor tennis, men's and women's locker rooms, fitness facility and group exercise room as well as full banquet facility, dining and bar area.
TPCC is hiring for an Assistant Golf Professional which is a key position within the TPCC golf operation. This position will assist the Head Golf Professional and other Assistant Professionals in the management of day-to-day golf operations of the facility. This person must embody outstanding customer service skills, attention to detail, organization and an intense passion for the game. Experience in instruction, club fitting, golf shop merchandising and tournament operations are critical. Opportunities will be available to learn the aspects of operating a PGA Professional owned golf shop while working hands on within the business. The individual in this role will be given every opportunity to acquire the necessary skills and experience to advance their career to the next level. The last four 1st Assistants at TPCC have gone on to become Head Professionals.
This position receives approximately $3,500 - $3,700 per month over the 7 months of employment (March 15-October 15 with sim coverage in Jan/Feb possible). Additional income from tournament bonuses, lessons ($85/hr), golf schools, junior golf, Monday outings and golf shop performance bonuses. Total compensation is dependent on lesson volume which is an expected range of $28,000 - $35,000 .
The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Assist in facilitating our men's and women's golf league
- Oversee weekly 9 hole women's golf association events
- Facilitate outside Monday Outings
- Assist in managing PGA Junior League
- Assisting in daily inventory and merchandising
- Manage and plan future tee sheets/calendars
- Operate point of sale and club software programs (Jonas)
- Work with Head Professional on group clinics and golf schools
- Assist in the Junior Golf program
- Coordinate the execution of the entire tournament schedule
- Provide instruction to all skill levels
- Play golf with members regularly
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Current PGA associate or member in good standing.
- Experience within private club sector.
- Fluency in Jonas Management Software & Golf Genius is a plus.
- Ability to provide instruction for players of all levels.
- Experience with small groups and clinics required.
