As we continue to grow, Bobby Rahal Volvo Cars South Hills is looking to add a Shop Foreman/Lead Technician to our team!

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Shop Foreman / Lead Technician to oversee the daily operations of our automotive repair shop. This role combines technical expertise with leadership skills to ensure the shop runs efficiently, meets customer satisfaction standards, and maintains a high level of quality and safety.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Supervision and Leadership

• • • Lead, train, and mentor a team of automotive technicians to ensure productivity and high-quality workmanship.
    • Manage workload distribution based on technician expertise and shop priorities.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for technicians regarding technical support and problem-solving.

• Foster a positive team environment and maintain open communication among team members.
• Technical Expertise

• • • Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
    • Assist technicians with complex repairs and provide hands-on support as needed.
    • Ensure all work meets manufacturer specifications and shop quality standards.

• 
  Operations and Workflow Management

• • • Oversee the scheduling and flow of vehicles through the shop to ensure timely completion of repairs.
    • Maintain an organized and safe work environment by enforcing shop policies and cleanliness standards.
    • Monitor and manage inventory levels of tools, equipment, and parts to avoid shortages or delays.
    • Coordinate with the service advisor team to update customers on repair progress and provide technical explanations when required.

  Quality Assurance and Compliance

• • • Inspect completed repairs to ensure they meet safety, quality, and customer expectations.
    • Enforce adherence to safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a secure work environment.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technology, and repair methods through training and certifications.

• 
  Customer Service

• • • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing technical concerns and ensuring satisfaction with repair outcomes.
    • Assist in resolving escalated customer complaints or issues in a professional and timely manner.

• 
  Administrative Duties

• • Track and report on shop performance metrics, including productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Collaborate with management to set goals, implement improvements, and plan future shop operations.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations for technicians.
  • Ensure team members adhere to company policies and dress codes. Maintaining a professional appearance.

Qualifications:

• Advanced technical skills and diagnostic abilities across various vehicle systems.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, repair equipment, and automotive software.
• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training is a plus.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
