South Hills Eye Associates is looking for a highly motivated, personable and knowledgeable Ophthalmic Medical Assistant to assist us with obtaining detailed information from patients and performing a variety of diagnostic tests to aid in the diagnosis and treatment plan for the patients.
In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the physician with patient flow, obtaining the patient's chief complaint, present illness, medical history, medications, and allergies. Performing various diagnostic tests as required by the physician such as Refractions, Visual Fields, Fundus Photography, OCT, Topography, Pachymetry, updating patient data using our Electronic Medical Records system, maintaining and cleaning all equipment being used and exam rooms, and effectively communicating with the patient and physicians.
To ensure success, the Ophthalmic Medical Assistant should possess 1-3 years’ experience in an ophthalmology setting, the ability to interact with patients and create a welcoming and patient centered environment.
This is a full time position and is located mainly in the Mt. Lebanon Office. The working hours are: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm. This position may require travel to both the Canonsburg and Mt. Lebanon Offices as hours and locations may vary depending upon practice needs.
