Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and organized SCRUM Coordinator in Washington, DC, near Capitol Hill. In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating all SCRUM ceremonies, managing agile-related meetings, and supporting the smooth implementation of agile processes across multiple projects. The SCRUM Coordinator will also maintain project backlogs, assist with backlog grooming, track progress toward project delivery goals, and provide leadership with high-level summaries of project status. You will play a key role in training team members on agile processes and methods to ensure the team operates efficiently within an agile framework.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- SCRUM Ceremonies Management: Conduct and schedule all SCRUM ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Retrospectives, and Backlog Grooming) and ensure they are held in a timely and efficient manner.
- Agile Training and Coaching: Train team members on agile processes, methods, and tasks as needed, ensuring that the team understands and follows best practices in their daily work.
- Backlog Management: Maintain and facilitate backlog grooming sessions for various projects, ensuring that tasks are clearly defined, prioritized, and well-documented.
- Azure DevOps Management: Maintain agile artifacts in Azure DevOps (or similar planning and tracking tools) to ensure that all tracking is up to date, including tasks, sprints, and milestones.
- Progress Tracking and Reporting: Track progress toward project delivery goals and provide leadership with high-level summaries and reports on project status, milestones, and any potential risks or issues.
- Collaboration with Leadership: Work closely with project stakeholders and leadership to align team efforts with broader organizational goals, helping to address any obstacles or delays in the delivery process.
Qualifications and Experience
- US Citizenship is required.
- Experience managing SCRUM ceremonies for enterprise-level engineering teams in an agile environment.
- Proficiency with Azure DevOps (or similar planning and tracking tools) to support agile workflows, track progress, and maintain project artifacts.
- Experience training and coaching teams on agile processes, best practices, and methods, ensuring team members understand the importance of each ceremony and its role in the agile process.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and guide teams in SCRUM activities and meetings.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and priorities.
- A good understanding of Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and the ability to implement them effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Education, Licensure/Certifications, or Experience:
- Certified SCRUM Master (CSM) or equivalent SCRUM-related certification.
- Familiarity with other Agile frameworks and practices such as Kanban or Lean.
- Previous experience in enterprise-level project delivery, managing multiple teams and complex projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify potential project risks and resolve them proactively.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Additional Agile certifications or relevant training in project management are a plus.
Physical Demands
Sitting/Standing: This role is generally sedentary, performing sitting work utilizing technological office equipment, including a laptop, mouse, keyboard, computer monitors, telephones, scanners, and copiers.
Walking: This role requires the ability to move about inside the office to access the required technological equipment.
Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: This role may require stooping to reload printer trays with print paper, moving equipment, and managing cords.
Using Hands/Fingers: This role constantly operates technological office equipment such as laptops, mice, keyboards, computer monitors, telephones, scanners, and copiers.
Talking/Hearing: This role requires constant communication with others in the organization to exchange information, review information, and make decisions about information.
Seeing: This role requires seeing, viewing, and distinguishing all aspects of internal and external communications.
Carrying/Lifting: This role requires lifting up to 20lbs to transport technological office equipment to and from various workspaces.
