Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, and production assistance.
Duties
Receiving
- Receives shipments from outside vendors and customer returns
- Verifies purchase order information matches information on bills of lading, invoices, or other records from vendor shipments
- Confirms that there are no damages or other issues
- If there are significant discrepancies in the documentation or damage, then the supervisor is contacted to either reject or accept the delivery
- Documents incoming shipments into shipping log book
- Using a forklift or pallet jack, move raw materials and finished goods to sampling area. Extract samples of received raw materials and finished goods and send to quality team for validation
- Using a forklift move raw materials and finished goods to quarantine area. Move to release area once quality has released the raw material or finished good
- Review returned goods from customers and fill out return form. Notify quality for further processing. Move returned goods to quarantine area until quality issues final dispensation
Shipping: Picks and packs goods for shipment via LTL
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lb boxes and place onto pallets
- Have customer service QA sku, quantity and lot codes were picked correctly
- Secure boxes to pallets
- Weigh and measure the dimensions of pallets
- Mark pallets with BOL and other customer required documentation
- Move pallets into staging area
- Help move pallets onto trucks if shipping LTL
Shipping: Picks and packs goods for small parcel shipment
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lb boxes and open up boxes and pick the appropriate amount of goods per customer order
- Have customer service QA sku, quantity and lot codes were picked correctly
- Pack product into boxes with proper paper filler material
- Weigh and measure the dimensions of each box and apply shipping label
- Places packed boxes by carrier into carrier pickup area
Production assistance
- Using a forklift move raw materials to production areas as needed
- Using a forklift take produced goods from production areas and store them in racking
- Assist in any other production activities as needed
Other
- Ensure conformance to product specifications, cGMP’s and safety regulations
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a shipping and receiving role preferred
- Familiarity with order picking processes and distribution center operations
- Forklift certification required
- Must be able to lift at minimum 40 lbs.
- A keen eye for detail
- Responsible and trustworthy
- Ability to work autonomously and under pressure
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling shipments
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
