We’re looking for an experienced Shipping and Receiving Manager to oversee our logistics operations. This role is crucial to ensuring our products are shipped efficiently and on time while maintaining the quality and safety standards our customers expect. Success in this role means managing the end-to-end shipping process, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with various teams to optimize operations. As part of the logistics team, this position is vital in supporting our supply chain and production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review shipping schedules and prioritize daily work assignments to meet production goals.
- Oversee all incoming and outgoing shipments to meet accuracy, quality, and safety standards.
- Coordinate space requirements for shipments and ensure proper loading and storage.
- Ensure shipments comply with state regulations regarding load limits and safety.
- Inspect material handling equipment and coordinate repairs as needed to maintain efficiency.
- Managed vehicle maintenance reports and kept up-to-date records of shipments and unfilled orders.
- Prepare bills of lading and post weight and shipping charges to maintain accurate documentation.
- Lead and train your team, promoting a safe and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- 5 years of experience in shipping, especially with dated and perishable products.
- Bilingual in Spanish and having experience in production is a plus.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills are essential.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures, including routes and rates.
- Familiarity with handling multiple SKUs and frozen/refrigerated products is preferred.
- HACCP certification is a bonus but not required.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- In the absence of the Shipping and Receiving Manager, supervisors will take responsibility for ensuring food safety practices.
