Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following.
- Identifying and recording present or potential conditions that would have a detrimental effect on product, process, or the quality system, and initiating corrective or preventive action procedures to address these conditions and verifying the effectiveness of corrective actions. May include controlling or stopping further processing of the product until corrective action has been satisfactorily implemented.
- Coordinating the interdepartmental efforts required to comply with quality assurance requirements.
- Identifying quality training needs and taking steps to ensure training is provided.
- Communicating at all levels on the status of the quality management system.
- Assist in general quality activities, including control of quality records, monitoring quality objectives at all levels, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining the BMS, evaluation/disposition of nonconformances, audits (on-site and internal), implementation and support of the Navigator operating system.
- Monitor and maintain outside processing, including evaluation of suppliers, generating purchase orders, reviewing certifications of conformance, and reviewing test reports.
- Practice and promote safety and good housekeeping.
- Must work in a manner consistent with the EMS.
- Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
- Perform other tasks as designated by the position.
- This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customers’ inventory and, as such, will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
- This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore, candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident cardholders.
- Education - Must possess basic metallurgical knowledge obtained through formal university or college training or a combination of training and experience. Metallurgical or material science degree preferred, will consider certificate of training and/or work experience in lieu of degree.
- A minimum of one year of experience in Quality Control and practical knowledge of commercial heat treatment of steel, aluminum, titanium, nickel, brass, copper, etc. desired.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate the English language to interface with management and all levels, both in-house and at the customer’s place of business.
- Must be capable of writing general procedures for heat treatment of specific alloys, in accordance with customer needs.
- Must be capable of making written recommendations for improving the Quality System and Procedures.
- Must have or be willing to obtain Six Sigma Green Belt
- Must be thoroughly familiar with commercial, aircraft, and aerospace specifications, ASME, and military specification codes as required.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience of computer applications, including Microsoft Office and databases, is required
- Must be able to read/interpret blueprints/specifications, be detail-oriented, to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to work in a sitting and standing position for extended periods of time in an office/industrial environment.
- Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity etc.
- Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone.
