Duties & Responsibilities
- Executes experiments using standard laboratory techniques to achieve defined objectives with minimal supervision during execution
- Organizes own tasks to complete in timely fashion with regular check-in with manager
- Learns how to develop, optimize and apply new methods/assays. Interprets results and identifies technical problems
- Learns to troubleshoot and identify causes and, working with supervisor, begins to suggest solutions
- Communicates and defends own experimental results in lab or small group meetings. Contributes methods and results sections to scientific documents
- Independently reads literature and technical information to support individual research goals and to build understanding of the underlying scientific principles of supported projects and the methods used
- Must be a current graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing
- Student must be enrolled at a college or university for the duration of the internship
- Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred
- Major or minor in related field of internship
- Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university
- Graduate and advanced degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university
