Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and motivated Scientist II to join our Immuno-Oncology Group in Oncology Research Department located at our Ridgefield, CT facility. The successful candidate will actively contribute to the cell line engineering and cell modeling, utilizing advanced molecular biological technology, include facilitating target identification and validation, accelerating drug candidate screening (both small molecules and biologics), and elucidating mechanisms of action.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Under manager’s close supervision, using standard molecular biology techniques to conduct experiments aimed at establishing and validating various cell lines tailored toward specific project need
- Design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments efficiently
- Analyze data and effectively communicate results
- Desire to learn advanced technologies to expand scientific knowledge and technical skills
- Collaborate with members within Oncology Research Department to support project advancement and decision making
- Prepare and deliver internal scientific presentations and reports as needed; contribute to external publications (posters and journals)
- Operate and maintain lab equipment
- Comply with applicable regulations, performing all work in a safe manner
- Maintain proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies.
- Must have good understanding of basic scientific principles and research practices
- Extensive research experience using molecular biology techniques, including aseptic cell culture, CRISPR/Cas9, genomic DNA extraction/RNA purification, PCR, molecular cloning, transfection, transduction, RT-qPCR, Western Blot etc.
- Experience with designing multi-color flow cytometry panels, cell sorting, and data analysis using FlowJo is a plus.
- Research experience in immunology and viral vector construction is a plus.
- Proficient in data analysis, result interpretation, troubleshooting, and solving technical issues.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with computers and data analysis software
- Ability and willingness to work effectively in a highly collaborative research environment
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with three-plus (3 ) years of experience in related scientific discipline or Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in related scientific discipline or equivalent experience in related field. No PhD candidates please.
