Software Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Boeing Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineering SME to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of projects and ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
Work on a critical knowledge sharing tools for the customer with real world applications. The tools that the team works on is high-visibility and enables collaboration across multiple partners as it is used in the day-to-day mission, throughout the customer and across the broader Intelligence Community (IC). Your work will enable data to be updated and shared in real-time and will help drive more informed and timely decisions in matters of national security.
A Software Lead Engineer on this team:
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop project plans and schedules, and ensure that all resources are properly allocated
- Leads and facilitates SAFe ceremonies to include sprint planning, sprint review, demos, sprint retro, and PI planning.
- Coordinates with other teams on the Agile Release Train (ART) and communicates status to management.
- Works with the Product Owner(s) to review and prioritize features.
- Manage project budgets and ensure that projects are completed within budget constraints
- Identify and manage project risks and issues, and develop contingency plans as needed
- Communicate project status, issues, and risks to all stakeholders, and provide regular project progress reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Ensure that all project documentation is complete, accurate, and up-to-date
- Provide leadership and mentorship to project teams

Experience and Qualifications:
To be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:
Required Education and Years of Experience:
- 14 years of experience w/ a Bachelors degree, higher education may be considered in lieu of years of experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Experience in software development, maintenance, and compliance with industry standards (quality, safety, security, and certification).
- Write, optimize, and maintain efficient, scalable, and high-performance code for complex software systems.
- Experience leading a team of peers and junior developers.
- Ability to translate system-level requirements into software specifications with clear traceability and risk mitigation.
- Proficiency in code reviews, software testing, verification, and issue resolution.
- Strong technical writing skills for developing user documentation and training materials.
- Experience in process evaluation, implementing emerging technologies, and adapting to regulatory changes.
- Strong project and stakeholder management skills, including software supplier oversight and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working within an Agile environment and program
- Experience using SAFe as the agile development methodology

Summary Pay Range:
