Description
The Mountain Bike Mechanic is responsible for making sure the Bogus Basin rental shop has a consistent and safe inventory of mountain bikes.
Essential Functions of the Job
- Perform repairs and maintenance on customer bikes.
- Build, repair, and maintain fleet of rental bikes.
- Select bikes to repair based on shop needs and community demand.
- Perform quality control checks on bikes to ensure the safety of all bikes rented.
- Track time and parts used per project.
- Under the purview of the Rental and Retail Manager, order and stock new accessories and components, as needed.
- Maintain a neat and organized workspace.
- Maintain a positive and professional image with guests and co-workers.
Non-Essential Functions of the Job
- Assist the rental shop with daily operations such as cleaning, sanitizing, and closing procedures.
- Performs other related tasks as necessary.
Requirements
- Passionate about Bogus Basin’s Mission.
- Proficiency with bicycle technology, mechanics, and tools.
- Ingenuity to solve a wide array of mechanical issues.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Enthusiastic with ability to maintain a positive attitude.
- Employee is frequently required to stand, balance, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
- Employee is frequently required to use hand tools.
- Employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and may be required to lift up to 35 pounds above shoulder level.
- Ability to complete a background check.
Working Conditions
- Mostly indoor, although occasionally outdoors.
- Employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone.
