What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales / Estimator position at Bohling Steel Inc.?
Job Summary
The Sales / Estimator is responsible for the following at a minimum:
- Selecting projects to bid that Bohling Steel, Inc. has the necessary internal and external resources to execute successfully.
- Compiling a detailed structural material take-off list from the project’s bid documents. This activity includes itemizing all shapes, sizes, lengths, and quantities specified on the bid documents.
- Inputting the material take-off into FABTROL for costing purposes.
- Performing a detailed shop labor hour requirement from the detailed structural material take-off.
- Estimating the cost to prepare shop drawings using outside drafting resources.
- Estimating the cost of freight to the job site.
- Requesting quotes and selecting the low bid qualified supplier for:
- Joists
- Deck
- Metal Fabrication Items
- Other Outsourced Steel Items Specified on the Bid Documents
- Requesting quotes and selecting the low bid qualified erector.
- Preparing a total project cost to review with the President for final bid proposal pricing.
Qualifications:
- Ability to prioritize work and work accurately, with interruptions, to meet deadlines.
- Must demonstrate good organizational and time management skills.
- Must demonstrate experience in analysis with the ability to analyze and anticipate situations.
- Must be able to interpret policies, procedures, standards, and specifications.
- Exhibit strong familiarity to all aspects regarding structural steel and fabrication.
Education:
- College Degree required.
Experience:
- Construction Industry and Structural Steel industry preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
