Qualified candidates interested in this entry-level Grinderman Assistant position should have a full understanding and working knowledge of the following: understand how to use hand tools and shop equipment such as drills, band saws, reciprocating saw, crimpers, cutting torch and welding machine in a safe manner. Must have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of shop math and blueprint reading. Must have basic electrical skills. Candidate will need to confidently work with, and understand precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, scales, and other measuring devices. Candidate will also be required to understand and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic circuits and work on different machine centers throughout the plant. Candidate must be willing to work a rotating shift schedule where they will perform duties alongside production techs, such as arbor changeovers, and troubleshooting. Must be competent in working with Windows based computer programs such as Windows Explorer, Word, and Excel.
Basic Qualifications: 36 Months experience required in a manufacturing industry is required. Wood products field a plus. Vocational or technical school diploma is preferred. Must be able to perform multi-task assignments within a fast-paced work environment and demonstrate commitment to total quality and the process of continuous improvement.
