What You’ll Do
- Support the Produce Manager with scheduling, staffing, and daily operations.
- Step up in the manager’s absence—leading ordering, receiving, merchandising, and team direction.
- Keep the department fresh, clean, and stocked—rotating product and managing back stock like a pro.
- Train and motivate the team to deliver excellent customer service and efficient workflow.
- Build attractive, shoppable displays that highlight seasonal and core produce items.
- Monitor inventory levels, coordinate with our Category Management team, and ensure smooth product flow.
- Ensure accurate signage, pricing, and labeling on all items.
- Uphold food safety and sanitation standards—and make sure your team does too.
- Assist with coaching, team check-ins, and documentation of employee performance.
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment with strong communication and a high floor presence.
- Attend meetings and stay in the loop with vendor updates and delivery schedules.
- Help hit department goals in sales, labor, shrink, and margin.
- 4 years of retail experience—produce preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- A knack for staying calm, focused, and positive under pressure.
- Availability for a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Willingness to go above and beyond when needed (including 40 hours/week).
- A current food handler’s card is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Comfortable bending, reaching, and performing physical tasks in a busy grocery environment.
