We are seeking an experienced Bulk Orderer responsible for ordering and maintaining proper inventory levels of product within the bulk department from the main grocery suppliers and numerous direct vendors.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Order, receive and stock products following proper guidelines for merchandising, rotation, sanitation and pricing.
  • Serve every customer in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Maintain and foster healthy relationships with supplier representatives.
  • Communicate effectively with your counterpart(s) at other location(s) to ensure that proper inventory levels are met, and out-of-stocks are minimized.
  • Order within established budget and margins.
  • Run and analyze movement reports to forecast and order appropriately.
  • Order as needed for seasonality and promotions.
  • Follow department procedures for handling new products and price changes.
  • Adhere to all Idaho laws regarding food safety and sanitation.
  • Maintain shrink level by proactively checking expiration dates.
  • Assist with special orders.
  • Research out-of-stocks and maintain out-of-stock shelf signs.
  • Participate in inventory counts and other duties as assigned.
  • Handle short-dated products and place on appropriate type of sale to minimize loss.
  • Organize and maintain all floor sets and backstock areas.
  • Communicate any product-related details or issues with the appropriate department(s).
  • Ensure that proper training is provided to new associates.
  • Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ability to build relationships, learn quickly, and maintain strong interpersonal skills.
  • Handle basic issues and problems and refer more complex issues to high-level staff.
  • Ability to exhibit a strong work ethic and encourage teamwork.
  • Basic understanding of Office products and services
  • Able to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
  • Adhere to scheduled shifts and be ready for work when shift begins.
  • Ability to consistently be at work and on time.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of retail experience and understanding of ordering and inventory management.

Physical Demands:

Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a grocery setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight, up to 50lbs; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Working Environment:

Work is performed primarily in a grocery store setting with extensive public contact and frequent interruptions.
