We are seeking an experienced Health Aid Beauty Aid (HABA) and Mercantile Orderer responsible for replenishment ordering, inventory level maintenance, and customer service for the HABA and Mercantile sub-departments of Wellness.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Order and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Run and analyze movement reports to forecast and order in alignment with current departmental guidelines and expectations.
- Order appropriately for seasonality and promotions.
- Order within an established budget, taking advantage of promotional pricing when available.
- Collaborate with sister locations to ensure acceptable inventory levels and minimize out-of-stock items.
- Monitor short dated and off-season products and place them on the proper sale to minimize loss.
- Maintain floor sets and backstock area for clear understanding of inventory levels.
- Monitor supplier out-of-stock to better forecast possible shifts in buying patterns to appropriately anticipate and pivot to alternative sourcing means.
- Ensure all Special Orders are ordered at the earliest possible opportunity and maintain communication with customers to ensure excellent customer care.
- Stock products following departmental guidelines for merchandising, rotation, sanitation and pricing.
- Greet every customer in both a welcoming and professional manner.
- Maintain and foster healthy relationships with supplier representatives, vendors, and local business owners.
- Follow department policies for receiving new products and price changes.
- Adhere to all Idaho Department of Health codes regarding food safety and sanitation.
- Foster a safe environment for our customers by using DESHA approved language.
- Participate in quarterly inventory counts.
- Ordering for, build, and maintain promotional sets and spaces.
- Participate in training new associates in these sub-departments.
- Consistently adhere to scheduled shifts and be ready for work when shift begins.
- Manage credits, damages, and returns for subdepartment in alignment with current department practices.
- Proficiency in creating purchase orders, reconciling, and committing invoices within our current purchase order system for inventory and price integrity purposes.
- Complete any other duties assigned by your Department Manager, Assistant Department Manager or Lead.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Able to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
- Adherence to posted schedule and ability to be on time and ready to work.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships, learn quickly, and adapt to an ever-changing landscape.
- Manage workload, be self-motivated, and prioritize tasks independently.
- Proficiency in analyzing departmental sales reporting.
- Adhere to scheduled shifts and be ready for work when shift begins.
- Ability to consistently be at work and on time.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of retail experience and understanding of ordering and inventory management.
- Exposure to and/or interest in holistic Wellness is preferred, but not required.
- Proficiency in basic operations of Microsoft Office, including Outlook email, Word, Excel, and Teams.
Physical Demands:
Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a grocery setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight, up to 50lbs; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
Working Environment:
Work is performed primarily in a grocery store setting with extensive public contact and frequent interruptions.
