Wine Educator

Join our family-owned winery in St. Helena as a Wine Educator. Our innovative, entrepreneurial team seeks a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and charismatic Wine Educator to join in our guest experience journey. This role reports to the Tasting Room Manager and collaborates with all members of the team from the owners to marketing, and beyond!

Responsibilities include:

• Host wine tastings with guests at our Tasting Room.
• Provide in-depth knowledge of the different AVA’s, grape varieties, wine pairing, and production techniques.
• Design and deliver educational content for various levels of wine enthusiasts.
• Assist customers in selecting wines based on their tastes and preferences.
• Educate and sell guests on the different levels of wine club membership.
• Maintain a welcoming and approachable demeanor for both individuals and groups.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in the wine industry.
• Collaborate with the team to host special events, promotions, and wine-focused campaigns.
• Participate in outreach and help foster industry connections.
• Complete necessary safety and compliance trainings.

Requirements:

• Passion for wine and sharing that passion with others.
• Strong knowledge of wine, including regions, varietals, and production methods.
• Certification in wine education (e.g., WSET, CMS) is a plus.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Experience in customer service or hospitality preferred.
• Ability to engage with diverse audiences, from beginners to experts.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Agility and eagerness to introduce new experiences and wines to the market.

Wage range does not include commission or potential gratuities.
