Flexible Workplace
This role is a flex office / home role and comes with the expectation you will engage onsite a certain number of working days per month, in our brand-new office located in Dublin, Ohio, with your Bold Penguin colleagues and customers. On-site workdays will be managed at the team level to maintain an environment focused on work-life balance, innovation velocity, and the delivery of exceptional customer experiences.
In this role, you will be expected to work 20% of working days per month (4 days per month on average) in the office. This is a minimum expectation. All employees are welcome to work in the office as much as they like. Applicants must be local (within 35 miles) to Dublin, Ohio.
YOUR ROLE
We are looking for a UI / UX Designer who will be responsible for the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design of our various digital assets. You’ll be responsible for delivering an outstanding user experience while providing exceptional and intuitive application design. You’ll combine user experience thinking with design execution, to produce usable and intuitive user interfaces.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build amazingly powerful and intuitive user experiences for commercial insurance agents and small business owners
- Participate in agile ceremonies such as iteration planning, retrospective, and daily standups
- Proactively research possible issues affecting the availability of our platform
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and customers to gather and evaluate user requirements and build impactful features
- Build internal component libraries that will be used across products to ensure an uncommonly great user experience
- Identify and troubleshoot UX problems
- Create and maintain digital assets, such as interface design files, wireframes, and interactive mockups
- Optimize existing user interface designs and conduct usability testing.

The national salary range for this role is $81,600 to $111,100. The expected starting salary range for this role at Bold Penguin is $89,100 to $106,700.
