What you’ll be doing
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all fixed assets in the company’s asset management system.
Ensure proper classification of fixed assets, including buildings, machinery, equipment, vehicles, and intangible assets.
Track new asset acquisitions, capital expenditures, transfers, and disposals.
Run monthly depreciation and amortization for assets based on company policies and accounting standards.
Reconcile the fixed assets subledger to the general ledger and investigate discrepancies.
Assist with external and internal audits related to capital expenditures and inventory.
Create and ensure the accuracy of monthly reconciliation schedules for fixed assets, inventory, and depreciation.
Review all capital projects to ensure all assets and/or expenses are properly recorded.
Operating expense allocations.
Collaborate with other departments to implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets.
Adhere to internal control procedures related to fixed asset purchases, documentation, and reporting.
Other duties and special projects as requested by management
What you’ll bring
3-5 years of fixed asset accounting experience or in a closely related and highly relevant field
Firm grasp of basic and intermediate accounting principles
Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Strong analytical skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments
Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
Experience with NetSuite a big plus
