What You Will Do
Fixed Asset Management:
- Oversee the full life cycle of fixed assets, including tracking, recording, and maintaining accurate asset records.
- Manage asset capitalization, depreciation, and disposal processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Reconcile fixed asset subledger to the general ledger on a monthly basis.
- Prepare and maintain detailed fixed asset schedules for reporting purposes.
- Assist in the preparation of annual asset audits, ensuring all fixed assets are properly accounted for and supported.
- Apply customer payments to accounts receivable accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor unapplied cash and resolve any discrepancies.
- Work with the accounts receivable team to ensure accurate posting of payments.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all entries are recorded accurately and timely.
- Help prepare financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Participate in reconciling balance sheet accounts and resolving discrepancies.
- Support ad-hoc accounting projects as needed, including analysis and reporting tasks.
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings, audits, and financial reviews.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests related to fixed assets and general accounting functions.
- Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments on financial reporting needs and process improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably with a focus on fixed asset management.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, including asset capitalization, depreciation, and reconciliation.
- Experience with SAP preferred
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Experience with cash application processes.
- Knowledge of GAAP and asset accounting principles.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced accounting environment.
