Naval Architect Intern
Location: Pascagoula, MS
Job Overview: We are seeking a motivated intern currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in naval architecture. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to learning and contributing to the team while gaining hands-on experience in the field.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Naval Architecture or a related field.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A willingness to learn and contribute in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Must be a US Citizen or US Person as defined by:
§ 120.62 U.S. person.
U.S. person means a person who is a lawful permanent resident as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20) or who is a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3). It also means any corporation, business association, partnership, society, trust, or any other entity, organization, or group that is incorporated to do business in the United States. It also includes any governmental (Federal, state, or local) entity. It does not include any foreign person as defined in § 120.63.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with general office tasks, ensuring attention to detail and accuracy.
- Support the Engineering department by preparing information and conducting research.
- Collaborate with company personnel across departments to support project objectives.
- Perform structural calculations and weight take-offs.
- Assist in the development of 2D drawings and 3D modeling.
- Create and analyze models using GHS (General HydroStatics) software.
- Participate in incline experiments and deadweight surveys.
- Other duties as assigned.
