Job Title: Safety Coordinator
Location: Harvey, LA
Position Overview: The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for implementing the company’s safety program and monitoring the facility and processes for adherence to OSHA guidelines and the elimination of industrial accidents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance to ensure facility equipment and conditions comply with safety regulations.
- Monitor on-site activities and enforce OSHA and safety regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
- Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, compliance activities, and incidents.
- Collaborate with team members to foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in safety compliance.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong Program Management Skills.
- Working knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations within a maritime industry.
- Must be highly motivated.
- Must have a proven track record in managing facility safety issues and experience in coordinating safety inspections, trainings, and meetings.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and implement initiatives to assist in achieving facility safety goals.
- Must possess basic computer skills with MS applications (i.e. MS Word/MS Excel).
- Must have strong communication and people skills.
