Position Summary: The Guest Services Associate ensures an exceptional experience for guests attending events, retreats, and conferences at the Bonclarken Conference Center. The associate will provide hospitality, assist with guest needs, and ensure a welcoming and faith-centered environment. This role requires administrative support, customer service, and spiritual hospitality per the center's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facility Cleanliness: Work with the GS team to ensure facilities are clean and ready for guest arrival.
- Hospitality Assistance: Assist guests with inquiries, providing helpful and timely responses regarding the conference schedule, activities, and amenities. Ensure that guests' needs are met, including special requests.
- Event Support: Coordinate with GS Assistant Directors and assist with logistical needs such as room setups, equipment requests, and guest seating arrangements for services or workshops. Ensure that the space is clean and ready before events.
- Facility Assistance: Assist with directions around the conference center, ensuring guests can find their way to meeting spaces, dining areas, or accommodations.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with guests, colleagues, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction. Keep the team informed of any issues or special guest requests.
- Maintain Cleanliness and Safety: Ensure common areas and guest spaces are clean, organized, and welcoming. Monitor safety procedures and protocols, particularly related to emergencies.
Qualifications:
- A strong Christian faith and a heart for serving others.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment while also taking initiative as needed.
- Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or event planning preferred.
- Quality cleaning skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to handle guest inquiries, issues, or complaints in a professional, calm, and solution-oriented manner or direct them to the correct person to do so.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Knowledge of the center’s mission, services, and activities and a commitment to supporting its Christian ministry goals.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to assist in setting up meeting rooms or event spaces.
