Job Summary

As a commercial roofing estimator, you provide estimating services and oversee activities for large-scale roofing projects. You estimate labor, materials, time requirements, and other factors that contribute to the overall cost of the project.

Roles, Responsibilities:

• Acquire Profitable Work: Ensure estimates are complete for job opportunities and budgeted revenue is acquired in profitable work.

• Cultivate Client Relations: Maintain client base and increase market share with new client growth through building relationships with general contractors.

• Scout Opportunities: Scout job opportunities on various roofing/construction online platforms to meet monthly profit and bid goals by providing competitive bids. Attend Pre-bid job meetings when needed to collect more information about the job specifics so that you ensure bids meet the necessary requirements and contain the requested information.

• Produce Competitive Proposals: Create proposals with accurate and detailed scope of work, job specific notes, needed clarifications and company required clauses and clear pricing. Present the bids to the customer during the bidding process to ensure that BDR meets the deadline for bid submittals and answers any questions about the proposal.

• Stay Technically Current: Continuing education in areas of roofing and estimating to stay current with technology in the industry.

• Direct Material Order: Ensure materials are ordered based on the cost estimated in the bid as staying within the estimate per the set budget in the bid. This attention to detail ensures that the job stays on budget and within the allotted job date completion.

METRICS:

• Meeting and/or exceeding budgeted sales/estimating quota.

• Ensuring BDR reputation is sustained in area.

Qualifications, Certifications, Educational Requirements

• 3 years of roofing and/or estimating experience.

Preferred Skills

• Ability to communicate effectively with team as well as potential and existing customers.

• Solid background in roofing understanding of different types of roofs, manufacturers, and warranties

• Ability to read blueprints.

• Excellent math skills and ability to read scale for estimating.

• Working knowledge of Estimating Software. (The Edge)

• Computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Suites.

Additional Notes

• This position operates in a professional office environment as well as outside in all types of weather. It may involve lifting 25 lbs. or more, twisting, climbing, bending, and kneeling. This position involves working at significant heights as well as steep slopes.

• This position works standard work week but may be required to work some nights and/or weekends to meet project milestones. Travel may be required.
